Roberto Vogel - Career History

 


Roberto Vogel founded his consultancy, Vogel Waste Industry Services (WIS), in December 1993. In May2003 WIS became a limited company, WIS Ltd. In WIS Ltd. Roberto carries out work in the field of project management, commissioning and training on a wide range of waste-to-energy projects in the UK and Europe. In addition WIS has expanded into Life Cycle Analysis, auditing and general environmental consultancy work. As company director he is responsible for all aspects of project work.

Previously he was employed with Aspinwall and Co., which he joined in July 1990 as Senior Engineer, Waste Treatment. There he has carried out projects in incineration, air emissions and sludge drying. Prior to this he was employed by Von Roll of Switzerland on the erection and commissioning of large Waste to Energy projects in Europe. In addition he was involved in research and development work on dioxins, and the co-firing of car shredder waste with municipal refuse.

Before joining Von Roll he undertook research work on vaccine conservation with the World Health Organisation in Geneva. He also worked in Costa Rica prior to taking up his degree course at Warwick University where he obtained a BSc (Hons) (Eng) MechEDAT. Roberto speaks fluent German, English, French and Spanish and has a basic knowledge of Italian and Norwegian. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Waste Management (IWM), an Associate Auditor (EARA Registered), a member of the Institute of Waste Management (IWMSA) (South Africa) and a member of the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA).



Rob Holmes - Career History

Rob Holmes completed his first four year degree in geology from Queen's University, Belfast, he later studied for a PhD in Applied Geochemistry from Imperial College, London. He has also gained post-graduate diplomas in environmental control (OU), water resources engineering (NE London Polytechnic) and management studies (Anglian Regional Management Centre).

Rob worked for eleven years from April 1975 with the UK's largest waste management company Cleanaway Limited (Redland Purle Limited in the early days) he entered environmental consultancy in mid-1985 at principal level with Dames & Moore (now URS Corporaton Ltd). In 1989 Rob joined Aspinwall and Company as Director of Audit Services, Rob took over the MD role at US-based Environmental Strategies Corporation's Chester office in late 1991 and became Director of the Arcadis Group's Audit Division in Cambridge when Environmental Strategies was bought in 1995.
 



Brian Gulley - Career History


Brian Gulley works as an Independent Waste Consultant for his own company. Previously his roles have included Divisional Manager, Waste Handling Division for Aspinwall & Company and later as Engineering Manager, Integrated Waste Management Division, London also for Aspinwall & Company. Brian has also worked as a Senior Consultant for Environmental Resources Limited (ERL) (Now Environmental Resources Management (ERM). He is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer C. Eng., M.I. Mech.E. and a Fellow of the Institute of Waste Management F.Inst.W.M.
